Dogma (and Catma, too!)

Dogma: noun:
1. prescribed doctrine: political dogma
2. a settled or established opinion, belief, or principle.
3. Union Square's hotspot for all the cool dogs (and cats, too!): where Boston's dogs can be bathed, pampered, groomed, treated and trained: THE unique boutique where owners can achieve pet-enlightenment.
dogma, (and catma, too!) is the brain child of Dilys Burke- professional trainer, and animal advocate. Somerville's' newest animal hot-spot (the good kind!)  is now located in Union Square!

Dogma's goal is to provide knowledgeable care, information, and guidance for anyone who has a domestic quadruped. Everyone, from the first time puppy owner to the family that has had animals for decades, will certainly benefit from this unique store.

Dogma offers a range of healthy foods, interesting toys, home-made treats -perfect from the walk back after a romp at Nunziato, as well as training, socialization, professional grooming, self-do bathing, and doggie day care.  The goal of Dogma is to provide a professional means to create healthy and satisfying relationships with your animals- all with a personal touch.

Just steps from the Union Square Animal Hospital and Nunziato Dog Park, dogma (and catma, too) will serve as THE place for animal lovers to congregate, for the love of their pet.

Dogma supports local businesses- and to prove it, all of the "models" displayed on this site are Boston and Metro-Boston's own local pride. Please feel free to say hello if you see them walking down the street, strutting their stuff, and checking their 'Pee-mail'.
Remember- each breed of dog was bred for a specific purpose. Do your research to find the right type of dog for your familly and your housing situation. Keep in mind, some animals do better in Boston's unpredictable weather than others- so do your research, and be prepared!

Cambridge's superstar,"Cheddar" (18 month old Boston Terrier) shows his photogenic side.
The old addage "let sleeping dogs lie" is a good place to start when it comes to creating a good relationship with your dog. Exercise and mentally stimulating games will help keep your dog happy, and therefore easier to manage frustration linked behaviors. The goal with Dogma is to create a peaceful relationship with your dog- and cats- where everyone can live in harmony.

Cross speciation cuddling optional.

Somerville's "Sadie", 5 year old Border Collie/Aussie Shepherd and "Rohan"- Siamese/Maine Coon prove that love is blind.
